Terms and conditions
The terms for using this website and for work carried out by IWSE Electrical Services. Last updated 1 October 2026.
In short: quotes are free and valid for 7 days, payment is due when you receive the invoice, larger installations may need a deposit, and all work and parts I supply come with a 12-month guarantee. Your legal rights as a consumer are never affected.
About these terms
IWSE Electrical Services is run by Isaac Stafford, a sole trader based in Kent (“I”, “me”). You can contact me on 07468 439325 or at info@iwse.co.uk. Part 1 covers using this website. Part 2 covers any work I carry out for you, unless we agree something different in writing.
Part 1: Using this website
- The information on this website is general and is not a substitute for a proper inspection or quote. I keep it up to date, but things can change.
- The IWSE name, logo and the content of this website belong to IWSE Electrical Services and can’t be copied without permission.
- Links to other websites (such as WhatsApp) are provided for convenience. I’m not responsible for their content.
Part 2: Terms of business
1. Quotes
- Quotes are free and there’s no obligation to go ahead.
- A quote is valid for 7 days from the date I send it. After that, prices may need to be reviewed.
- Quotes are based on the information you give me and what can be seen at the time. If something hidden comes to light once work starts — for example damaged cables or an existing fault — I’ll explain it and agree any change in price with you before doing extra work.
- If VAT applies, it will be shown on the quote.
2. Deposits
For larger installations, I may ask for a deposit before ordering materials or starting work. If a deposit is needed, the amount will be shown on your quote and agreed with you beforehand.
3. Payment
Invoices are payable on receipt, once the work is complete. Payment details are shown on the invoice. Materials I supply remain my property until they’ve been paid for in full.
4. My 12-month guarantee
All work I carry out, and all parts I supply, are guaranteed for 12 months from the date the work is completed. If something I’ve installed fails during that time because of my workmanship or a faulty part I supplied, I’ll put it right free of charge. Please let me know as soon as you notice a problem.
The guarantee doesn’t cover:
- accidental damage, misuse, or normal wear and tear;
- work that has been altered or repaired by someone else;
- faults in existing wiring or equipment that wasn’t part of the job;
- parts or appliances you supply yourself (my workmanship installing them is still covered);
- consumable items such as bulbs and batteries.
5. Your right to cancel
If you’re a consumer and we agree the work away from my business premises — for example at your home, by phone or online — you normally have 14 days to cancel without giving a reason, under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. If you ask me to start work within those 14 days and then cancel, you’ll need to pay for the work done up to that point. You may lose the right to cancel once urgent repairs you asked for have been completed.
6. Access and safety
Please make sure I can get to the work area safely, and let me know about anything that could affect the job or my safety, such as known asbestos, pets, or restricted parking.
7. Responsibility
I carry out all work with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms limits my liability where it would be unlawful to do so — for example for death or personal injury caused by negligence — and your legal rights as a consumer (including under the Consumer Rights Act 2015) are not affected.
8. Problems and complaints
If you’re not happy with anything, please get in touch straight away so I can put it right.
9. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
