In short: I only collect what I need to reply to you, quote for and carry out your work. I never sell your details or use them for marketing, and this website doesn’t use cookies.

Who I am

IWSE Electrical Services is run by Isaac Stafford, a sole trader based in Kent. I’m the “data controller” for the personal information described here. If you have any questions about this policy or your information, email info@iwse.co.uk or call 07468 439325.

What information I collect

• When you use the quote form: your name, phone number, email address, postcode, the type of work, your description of the job and any photos you choose to send.
• When you call, text, WhatsApp or email me: your contact details and whatever you tell me about the job.
• If I carry out work for you: the address of the job, details of the work, certificates and test results, quotes, invoices and payment records.
• When you visit this website: cookie-free visitor statistics (such as pages viewed, the website that referred you, your general device and browser type and country). These don’t identify you. The website host may also briefly keep technical logs, including IP addresses, for security.

How I use it, and why I’m allowed to

• To reply to your enquiry and give you a quote — because you’ve asked me to, before entering into a contract.
• To carry out, certify and invoice the work, and to honour my guarantee — to perform our contract.
• To keep business, tax and accounting records — because the law requires it.
• To keep this website secure and understand how it’s used — my legitimate interest in running the business, using only anonymous statistics.

I won’t send you marketing messages, and I never sell or give your information to anyone for their own marketing.

Who your information is shared with

I only share information with the services I need to run the business:

• Netlify, which hosts this website and receives quote form submissions (including photos) before they’re emailed to me. Netlify is based in the USA, so your information may be processed there under legal safeguards approved for UK data.
• My email provider, which stores emails you send me or that come from the quote form.
• Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts website visits without cookies and without identifying you.
• Google Fonts: your browser downloads this website’s fonts from Google, which means Google receives your IP address.
• WhatsApp (run by Meta), only if you choose to message me that way.
• My accountant and HMRC, where needed for tax purposes, and anyone I’m legally required to share information with.

How long I keep it

• Enquiries that don’t lead to any work are deleted within 12 months.
• Records for jobs I carry out (contact details, quotes, invoices and payments) are kept for 6 years after the work, for tax, accounting and guarantee purposes.
• Electrical certificates and test records may be kept for longer where that’s needed to show the work met the regulations.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of the information I hold about you, and to ask me to correct it, delete it, restrict how I use it, object to how I use it, or send it to you or someone else in a reusable format. Some of these rights have exceptions — for example, I have to keep certain records for tax purposes. To use any of these rights, contact me using the details above. I’ll respond within one month.

If you’re unhappy with how I’ve handled your information, please tell me first so I can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Cookies

This website doesn’t use cookies, so there’s no cookie banner. The visitor statistics are collected without cookies. If that ever changes, I’ll update this policy and ask for your consent first.

Keeping your information safe

This website is only served over a secure (HTTPS) connection, and I take reasonable steps to protect the information I hold, such as using strong passwords and secure devices.

Changes to this policy

I may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
